2nd BLOOD DONATION CAMP

Chennai, March 12 - YRC of PERI Institute of Technology organized one day blood donation camp on 12th march 2016 held in PERI campus. The event started at 10:30 A.M with welcoming address by the principal Dr.R.Palson Kennedy and delivered a cheerful speech about blood donation.

This was followed by a small information about Youth Red Cross and NSS was read by PERI IT’s student campaigners. Dr PK Chidambaram, NSS/YRC coordinator, proposed the facts about blood donation and vote of thanks

Around 300 students of both gender registered themselves to donate their blood. 190 Male and 15 Female volunteers donated their blood. Seven Teaching staffs and 4 administrative staffs were also took part in the camp and donated their blood.The YRC Blood bank collected blood from 82 donors and the General hospital, Chennai collected blood from 123 donors

Participated volunteers and staff coordinators were presented and honored with certificate of participation from PERI IT Principal.Short advices given by Dr Rajalakshmi, General Hospital, Chennai, to our students about how to keep their body fit and healthy to donate blood and the importance of donating blood.

Mr. Balan and Mr. Ganesan provided the required number of cots, sound system, stools, tables, dust bins needed in the hall. Mr.Shiek made arrangements of food for the Doctors, other officials from YRC and GH blood bank, staff coordinators / students volunteers.

Tireless hard work of staff coordinators and volunteers made the blood donation camp a success. The camp was successfully completed at 3.10 PM.
